Interesting way to educate

The gembox was wonderful. We got it for our home schooled granddaughter of 5 years old. We knew it was a little advanced but with our help she really enjoyed the challenge. The price of the regular boxes is a little more than we can spend monthly but the introductory price was a little to inexpensive. Lol. Anyway interesting and wonderful addition to educate the young ones.

Fun for Junior gemstone enthusiasts!

This was a fun alternative subscription box for kids (actually adults, too). A good amount of learning opportunities regarding the monthly gemstone.

Fun activity

I did this mystery box with my 11 year old son. He knew the identity of the mystery gem as soon as he saw it but it was still fun to go through the booklet and do all the puzzles. Some of the puzzle instructions could be revised for clarity and readability but we were able to quickly figure out most answers (the first puzzle seems to have a small error?). I think this booklet does a good job of teaching while still keeping the activity fun; it is perfect for elementary aged kids.

Its a hit!

Well done. Good quality and if generating interest of young people is the goal it was a huge success. We are thrilled with the program.

OK, but it needs to distinguish itself.

I was impressed with the things in the box and the finished gem was very nice. While I might pay $20 or even $30 per box for a subscription, I think $39.99 will be too high a price point.
I have not had a chance to review it with the child I bought it for, so don't know how a child will like it.
The title is OK, but it needs to distinguish itself from the run of the mill "geode" and "fossil digs" at kid catalogs all over at Christmm\as time, It's better than those.
